Neighborhood
2626 Lakeview is directly across the street form the north end of Lincoln Park. The park runs parallel to the lake front and stretches from North avenue on the south to Diversey Parkway on the north – approximately 1.5 miles, and from Lake Shore Drive on the east to Clark, Lincoln Park West and Lakeview on the west. The park and the lake front also provide more than 12 miles of uninterrupted trails for running, rollerblading and bicycling enthusiasts.
A brief walk across the street from 2626 leads to a tot lot then on to Diversey Habor, tennis courts, a driving range for golf enthusiasts, miniature golf and the lake front. Walk south along the lake on a summer evening to watch the Chicago Park District sponsored volleyball games, take a dip in the lake along North Avenue beach, relax in the sand and people watch or watch the sail boats out on the lake. Take a leisurely five minute walk to the North Pond Café for gourmet dining. Summer evenings can be interesting and relaxing along the lake front or take a short walk north and tour the impressive International Headquarters for the ELKS.
Transportation to downtown, points north or west is available across the street at the Stockton Drive bus stop. A few minutes walk west to Clark Street or north to Diversey brings shopping, dinning, health clubs and night life.
The proximity of the Lincoln Park neighborhood to the Gold Coast, the Loop and Northwestern University Hospitals makes the neighborhood a convenient location for may professionals, especially medical professionals - there are six hospitals within a mile of 2626 Lakeview.
